Zion in the Desert: the Lost Jews of Timbuktu (essay © 2003)
15 November, 2003
What follows is an unpublished Thinking-East article based upon an academic paper I wrote for Dr. Tudor Parfitt during my semester at the School of Oriental and African Studies. Needless to say, I’ve grown in my ability both to organize my information as well as to argue coherently (all credit is owed to La Salle’s rigorous grad program in history which demanded an end to undergradisms). It’s actually rather painful for me to go back and read this, but hey, that’s who I was. — CS 12.06.2008
